I started reading the links from sf_drama but gave up after reading I'm mad because I would have liked to have been able to make the decision not to read something that would so viciously hurt me. If that person's life has been so good that reading a line in a fic is one of the worst things that has ever happened to them, all power to them but I will still facepalm.

But yes, I agree with everything you wrote there. Authors are not their characters, and real people are not necessarily nice people.
