I COMPLETELY agree but I also thought that right there, seeing his father so winded and just not what he once was, he realizes that Uther is OLD. I think that's the moment when he realizes that him being King isn't just this faraway "oh haha someday I'll be king" thing. His father is old and someday soon he's going to die, and Arthur will be king. For me at least, that moment during the fight is where all that reality and responsibility really sunk in.
