That's really interesting about them not wanting you to mention "the gay". One of the reasons I started watching Merlin (sometime during S1) was because I'd seen mainstream media references to the gay subtext! Russell T. Davies even mentioned in an interview how gay Merlin was.
And interesting about people not mentioning it re: H50. (except Entertainment Weekly did mention Steve and Danny flirting) Looking forward to the new ep tonight and finding out the context for the lei thing.
