A post of great scientific magnitude.

Guys, are you ready to hear something shocking? Ready? Are you sitting down?

I LOVE COLIN MORGAN.

Shocking, right? I bet none of you who have ever spoken to me would guess such a closely guarded secret!

Anyway, because I love Colin, I stare a him a lot. And in staring at him, I noticed that the way he smiles at one Bradley James is not the way he smiles at other people. Which is a fact I mention a lot, and eventually people kept going OMG REALLY SHOW ME. And I was like "WELL, IF YOU INSIST". So I present to you my magnum opus of great genius:

Everyone, meet Colin Morgan.

Colin Morgan, as you can see, has a pretty great smile.

One can identify the smile using certain distinct markers:

Common side-effects of witnessing this smile include swooning, sighing, removal of undergarments to fling at Colin Morgan's feet, etc.

It was noted, however, that Colin Morgan has a particular smile that uses in relation to his co-star, Bradley James.

This smile varies from its common cousin in a variety of ways, as diagrammed below:

After careful examination, however, it was revealed that The Bradley Smile, instead of being one homogeneous species, in fact contained two sub-species, the aforementioned smile, and the following smile:

Smile Subspecies B has a few distinct markers that differentiate it from Subspecies A:

Both smiles have, since the beginning of Bradley and Colin's relationship, been present, as evidenced by the following historical study:

A side variant of Subspecies B.

It should be noted that while Subspecies B often stands on its own, Subspecies A is often a prelude to speaking or a failed attempt to contain laughter.

The smiles continued to make their presence known in public situations.

Upon viewing of The Road Trip, it had become clear that subspecies B now had evolved and occasionally displayed a new trait.

This trait can only be scientifically referred to as "besotted/bedroom eyes".

The manifestation of this trait is not deterred by knowledge of an audience, nor by the presence of a small animal that has curled up and died all over Bradley James' face.

The presence of such smiles even in professional and/or public setting indicates that these expressions are involuntary and/or unavoidable.

Perhaps the most fertile ground for smile-spotting exists in the Geek Syndicate Interview of September, 2010.

There are too many instances of each smile to show all of them, however it should be noted that there is a healthy sampling of both Subspecies A...

...as well as Subspecies B.

(There is also lip biting, oh my sweet holy Jesus.)

Indeed, the fond smiles are so common that not even Bradley James is immune in indulging in a few, as he shows by doing a remarkable demonstration of Smile Subspecies B.

For the sake of accuracy, a great deal of effort was put into finding images of Colin Morgan smiling at other people in any way that differs from the Common an General Colin Morgan Smile.

Such searches, however, proved fruitless.

It therefore is logical to infer that both subspecies A and B of smile are Bradley James-specific and indicative of a phenomenon commonly referred to as "hearts in eyes".

And thus, in conclusion:

(Images stolen from all over the fricken-fracken place, most notably from [livejournal.com profile] mrs_leary and [livejournal.com profile] yavannauk's filming pictures. Thanks goes to [livejournal.com profile] wordsindreams and [livejournal.com profile] i_claudia for shameless encouragement and assistance in my highly scientific research, and especially to [livejournal.com profile] i_claudia, who is at least 20% responsible for the totally fucking ridiculous macro, because she uttered the phrase "Bradley and Colin are the best couple of all time" in my presence and that was really just a shamefully easy jumping point to lunacy.)

I think they at least are emotionally in love with each other, that is Bromance, right?
But I truly wish they are more than emotionally in love (if you know what I mean).

Oh, they're totally in some sort of emotional relationship with each other. I'd of course love if they got married and adopted kittens, but so long as they are somehow together forever being doofuses, I could care less.

Haha, Bradley and Colin get married? That's really a good idea. Thing about it, I just feel sweet and heart-warming. I always think they two are just made for each other. Perfect match.

They really are. Them not being together even as cranky old men who play checkers with each other wold just be wrong.

But seriously, it is very hard for me to judge the relationship between B/C. I tend to think it is a pure and deep friendship. But I can also feel there is a lot more. Anyway. I think they two always confuse me.

I go from the lowest common denominator or, what even the most doubtful of doubters would agree on - they have a very deep friendship. They're completely attuned to the other and share a great mutual fondness and respect. They complement and bring out the best in each other. This is the basis of any good romantic relationship, which is why it gets confusing. If they have a sexual attraction to each other (which is impossible to gauge unless you're examining, uh, more private parts of them or inside their brain), I have no doubt that any relationship that sprung out of that would last for the long run. If they don't, though, they at the very least have the kind of friendship that could, quite possibly, last a lifetime.

I totally agree with you on this comment. Lifetime relationship, no doubt about that. But we know we all want more from two of them. It will be a fairy tale in life. That's most sweet.
