Ugh, time to kill until work. I should be writing this short essay that I've been working on that actually has some promise, except I'm too bored to write. Have I mentioned Too Bored To Write feeling before? BECAUSE IT IS THE WORST AND I HATE IT. SO! I am now going to share with you the mishmash of links I have acquired, and you're going to entertain me in my comments section, and you will enjoy it, goddamn.

copperiisulfate was doing a meme where you said a bunch of random nouns and then she'd ask you five questions or whatever, so if you all want me to ask you questions, that's cool, but here are the answers to mine:
1. name one story that will stay with you forever (book/movie/whatever medium).
Hmmm, there are about a bazillion answers to this question, but I always say The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede. They were the first books that made me go from enjoying reading to love love love love feelings re: reading, and the books that made me fall in love with fantasy as a genre, and the books that introduced me to the ideas of feminism (though I had no idea what they were at the time) - namely, that it was okay not to fall in love at the end of a book, and that girls can kick ass without a male sidekick (even if he is incompetent) and all sorts of other strange new ideas that at the age of six and a half, I had never had before.
2. favourite female character of all time!
ELIZABETH LEMON, aka: my spirit animal. (That's what the cool kids are calling it on Tumblr, nowadays.)
3. is there any one thing you feel like you absolutely have to see or do or become in your lifetime?
There are a lot of things I'd like to do, but if the world ended tomorrow, I wouldn't have regrets about not doing them yet, if that makes any sense? Like, one day, I want to be married and have kids and be published, and I'd like to see Europe (or really, anywhere that is not America/Canada), and all sorts of things, but I also like the idea that they're something in the future to look forward to. So when I think about not doing them or not having done them yet, I don't feel like I MUST DO THEM RIGHT NOW. I think, huh, that's always something to look forward to.
4. if you could visit one fictional universe, which would it be?
HOGWARTS. Still so bummed I never got my letter. I waited by the mailbox for weeks, yo.
5. bradley/colin or merlin/arthur?
Bradley/Colin. We all know TPTB are too stupid to actually write a romance, plus, I personally think that Arthur won't be able to get with Merlin until he's lived out his Taylor Swift fantasy with Gwen, unfortunately. I have zero doubt that in the future after the show ends, Arthur and Merlin will be getting it on like bunnies along with Gwen and Lancelot, and there will be a lot of willful ignorance and wink-wink-nudge-nudge. But like I said, I have zero faith in TPTB to actually make that happen. Thus, I choose Bradley and Colin. Because they are real, and because I think they'd be just perfect together, and because if they got married and had babies and dogs and whatnot, they could create their own production company and make MERLIN: THE KING ARTHUR YEARS in which the plot is Arthur and Merlin and the knights swashbuckling a lot, and every episode ends with Merlin and Arthur holding hands/making out/riding off together into the sunset, because clearly Bradley has been itching to write that series, like, forever.
PRETTY DRESSES
So a while ago I posted my "wardrobe" for the awards season, but I am sorry to inform you there has been a change. Namely, in my Oscars dress. See, it's couture fashion week in Paris or somesuch nonsense. Now mostly the only way I can tell "couture" from normal fashion shows is by "couture" they mean "unwearable by mere mortals and often quite ugly" (though srsly if you guys haven't seen the Dior show go look. IT IS LIKE AN ORGASM FOR YOUR EYEBALLS), but Elie Saab (who made the original Oscars dress) put out this dress:
ASLFJKSDAKJ WANT SO MUCH MORE. I still want it in that evergreen/hunter green/whatever color, even if it is all ~trendy~ now since the Globes, and I kinda liked that color because it wasn't ~trendy~, but whatever. I'm a pale redhead. THAT IS MY COLOR, YO.

Also: hahaha, something about calling Arthur/Gwen "Arthur's Taylor Swift fantasy" makes me want to laugh forever. It's like, I like Arthur/Gwen, but I love you quippily hating on Arthur/Gwen. It is one of my favourite things about the entirety of the Merlin fandom.
